The Tides of War(IC)

That which hath become unfolds into the tyranny of hell. As the darkness overcomes my sight, I record my last hours for those who follow, to know why we did what we thought we had to.

I was a general for the Brakmarian Militia. Rank 10. I was an elite of the elite. I held the highest honor, in the form of beautiful, powerful black wings. How ironic that I now lay dying, 1 of hundreds of thousands. Insignificant to the extreme. But I digress. You wish to read of the horrors of war. Horrors committed on both sides..

What's funny is.. no one even knows how the stupid war started. 1 day trade between cities was going well, and the world was prosperous. The next, the sky darkened and blood clogged the ocean. Millions of soldiers came together, from ocean to ocean. The largest battle took place on the Cania Plains, nicknamed Deaths Disgrace. The battle there lasted hundreds of years. A neverending torrent of soldiers died, oh so many died. I remember my companions. Friends I loved and lost.. oh god. Soon though. Soon I'll join them finally. I've lived so long.. I can't bear it.

I shall tell you, my reader, of how the battles were. Perhaps you can understand.. though they chanted my name, though I slayed thousands, though I placed my country before myself, I was insignificant.

-Excerpts from Umeko's Journel

Umeko stood in a pavillon. He had just received orders to head to the front line. He was to join battalion number 417. It had sustained heavy losses recently, and it was in dire need of troops.

Umeko set out for the group of Xelors teleporting soldiers away. They did thousands per day, and were constantly changing. Umeko handed over a transcript for his destination, and he stepped into the large circle, where he joined several others. He avoided all their eyes, and in a flash they were all sent out, to different destinations.

Umeko arrived right outside the giant wooden baricade that seperated him from the battlefield. He identified his new troupe number, displayed on a flag amongst the thousands of rows of them. He walked over to it, and he looked about for a commanding officer.

After just a few minutes, a small Eniripsa came gliding over. He pulled up short in front of Umeko, and he flapped up to eyes length.

"What'chre doin' here. Needsa healin'?"

"Nay, I received a transfer. I'm supposed to meet some new and old alike soldiers before we he'd to the battlefield.

"Ahhh, wellser yer the first to arrived. I be Modra, your troupes base healer. Return here anytime, and I'll provide yer healin'."

The small man floated off, and Umeko looked around. Not seeing anyone arrive yet, he sunk to the ground, his back against the flag. He cocked his knee, and he waited.
